Program to help adult stutterers Jan. 17, 18 & 19 (Released: 12/19/95)

STORRS, Conn -- The Speech and Hearing Clinic at the University of Connecticut is offering an intensive program to help adult stutterers.
The program includes an initial evaluation, three full days of intervention, and a three-month period of weekly group and individual services. The three- day portion of the program will be offered Jan. 17, 18 and 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Speech and Hearing Clinic on the Storrs campus. The program will consist primarily of individual sessions, but will be augmented by group activities, says Susan Munroe, the clinical supervisor.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old. They should contact the clinic at the earliest possible date to schedule an evaluation.
Fees may be covered by health insurance or other third-party funding sources. Clinic staff members will help with applications for funding.
