New support group for stutterers (Released: 11/7/95)

STORRS, Conn. -- The University of Connecticut is creating a new support group for those who stutter. The University's Speech & Hearing Clinic will hold free group meetings beginning Nov. 14 for the public to learn and share feelings about stuttering and gain valuable speaking experience in a supportive environment.

The meetings will be held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month in Room 112 of the Communication Sciences building, 850 Bolton Road on the Storrs campus. The Nov. 14 meeting will feature a talk by professor emeritus Jay Lerman on trends in the treatment of stuttering.
