STORRS, Conn. --The third annual Women s Health Conference will take place at the University of Connecticut Oct. 16.

Women, Health and Human Rights will feature Gail Sheehy, author of 10 books, including New Passages, Pathfinders and Silent Passages. Sheehy will discuss her latest book, New Passages, and her work on behalf of refugee women and children.

Other speakers and a panel discussion will highlight women s health issues and human rights. The conference will take place from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Jorgensen Auditorium. Registration, including dinner, is $20 for the public and $5 for UConn students. Registration deadline is Oct. 10.
