STORRS, Conn. -- Arnold Orza, an associate professor in the Department of English at the University of Connecticut, has been named interim director of UConn's West Hartford campus.

He will serve in that role from Sept. 1 through Aug. 31, 1997, associate provost Fred Maryanski said.

"Arnie has served the campus and University with dedication and distinction as a faculty member and I have ever confidence that he will continue to do so in his role as interim director," Maryanski said. "I look forward to working with him during the upcoming academic year in which the campus will face many critical issues."

The campus director, political science professor Russell Farnen, will return to teaching after 15 years of service.

Orza has been at the University since 1967. He received his bachelor's degree from Fordham University and his master's and doctorate from Johns Hopkins University. He has served on the University Senate and the Executive Committee of the UConn chapter of the American Association of University Professors.
