Pierce named president-elect of food services organization (Released: 8/7/96)

STORRS, Conn. -- C. Dennis Pierce, assistant director of food services at the University of Connecticut, was voted president-elect of the National Association of College and University Food Services.

Pierce, who has held his UConn position since 1987, was elected at the NACUFS annual conference in Albuquerque, N.M., in July. He will be president of the organization in 1997-98. In 1996-97 he will assist the current president, David R. Prentkowski, director of food services at the University of Notre Dame.

Pierce has served as the organization's national publications officer, co-chair of the 1997 national conference committee, and as a member of the national education committee. He was featured as one of "Ten People to Watch in 1993" by Restaurants and Institutions magazine.
