Student scholarship art show at Atrium Gallery (Released: 4/9/97)

STORRS, Conn. -- Some of the finest art work produced by students at the University of Connecticut will be on display through April 18 at the Atrium Gallery in the Fine Arts Building.

The juried Student Scholarship Show features the best works from students who enter the awards competition. Nearly $10,000 in awards and scholarships will be given to students in studio art and art history. The show covers the spectrum of art, including paintings, sculpture, ceramics, graphic design and illustrations, prints, photography and mixed media.

The show's judges are James Rondeau, assistant curator of contemporary art at The Wadsworth Atheneum, and Paula Galluzzi, a freelance designer who graduated from UConn with a degree in art in 1988.

The Atrium Gallery is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
