Nominations sought for student award (Released: 2/4/97)

STORRS, Conn. -- Nominations are being sought for an annual student award that honors an undergraduate for leadership and service.

Nomination forms for the 1997 Donald L. McCullough Award are being sent to faculty and staff and are being accepted from any member of the University community. Additional forms may be obtained by calling the Student Development Office at 486-3425. The deadline is Feb. 28.

Nominees must be students currently enrolled at UConn and in good academic standing. They must have demonstrated continuous and outstanding service to the University through participation in voluntary and extracurricular activities with an emphasis on quality of participation at the University. They must also show commitment to enhancing the quality of student life.

Nominations should be sent to: Donald L. McCullough Memorial Award Committee, M. Kevin Fahey, Student Union, U-8.

The award honors Donald L. McCullough, who was director of the Office of Student Activities at the time of his death in June 1979. The award will be presented April 30.
