Open house April 12 for prospective students (Released: 2/24/97)

STORRS, Conn. -- Prospective freshmen and transfer students, their parents and friends are invited to the University of Connecticut's Spring Open House on Saturday, April 12.
The event is an opportunity to gather information about UConn, tour the campus and learn first-hand from faculty about the University's academic programs. UConn has held a University-wide open house each spring since 1992.
Registration begins at Gampel Pavilion at 8:30 a.m. President Philip Austin and Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management Ann Huckenbeck will welcome students and their families. At 10 a.m., a resource fair will feature a variety of student services and extracurricular programs. Information about financial aid will also be presented, and two sessions of a student life panel will be offered. School and college academic information sessions will be held at various locations around campus.
Bus tours of the campus, departing from the front of the Student Union building, will run continuously from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Parking will be available for all open house visitors.
