Student awarded University's highest academic honor (Released 3/12/97)

STORRS, Conn. -- Greg Metro of Shelton, a finance major at the University of Connecticut, has been named a University Scholar, the highest academic honor the University bestows on undergraduate students.
Once selected, a University Scholar is allowed to pursue an academic program tailored to his or her unique intellectual interests and abilities. Metro's University Scholar project is titled "Econometric Models for Stock Valuation," integrating economics, finance and financial management. Metro hopes to develop an economic model to predict a company's future earnings and stock prices.
A graduate of Shelton High School, Metro has captained the UConn varsity golf team and is president of the finance society.
He hopes to pursue a career in financial management
