Author Louise Bernikow will lecture on feminism March 26 (Released: 3/21/97)

STORRS, Conn. -- Feminist author Louise Bernikow will discuss the past 25 years of the women's movement at the University of Connecticut March 26.

Her talk, "The Secret History of Feminism in Our Time", is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the Doris and Simon Konover Auditorium of the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center.

The founder of two women's studies programs, Bernikow is a former Fulbright Scholar and author of seven books. Among Women and The World Split Open have been used as primary texts in college English classes.

Bernikow's latest book, The American Women's Almanac : An Inspiring and Irreverent Women's History, published this year, explores the American past through essays, photos and excerpts from women's writings.

Studies Program at UConn.
