Alumni Association offerings scholarships for full time study at UConn (Released: 10/7/98)

STORRS, Conn. -- The University of Connecticut Alumni Association is seeking applicants for 60 student scholarships the association will award for the academic year 1999-2000.
Full-time undergraduate students and students who will attend UConn full-time for first-year graduate study are eligible. The awards will be based on academic performance, financial need, excellence in field of study, and University/community-related co-curricular activities or employment. High school seniors who will attend UConn as freshmen in the 1999-2000 academic year also may apply.
Recipients of the alumni scholarship will be notified in early spring 1999. Awards will be presented during a ceremony in the spring. The monetary amount of the scholarship will be credited directly to the student's fee bill.
Scholarship applications are available through Friday, Nov. 6, at the Centennial House, 2384 Alumni Drive, Box U-53, University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT 06269, or from UConn's regional campuses at Avery Point in Groton, Hartford, Stamford, Torrington or Waterbury. The deadline for completed applications is 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13.
