Open forum scheduled to discuss preliminary master plan (Released: 1/21/00)

STORRS, Conn. -- The Michigan consultants who prepared the University of Connecticut's master plan for facilities will return to campus next week for two open forums on their preliminary plans for future construction on the Depot Campus, North Campus (the former UCEPI site between North Eagleville Road and Route 44), and the area surrounding the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
The consultants, from Johnson, Johnson and Roy of Ann Arbor, Mich., will discuss their plans and gather input f rom students, staff and community members during the forums, to be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 24, in Room 7 of the Merlin Bishop Center, and at 7 p.m. Jan. 25 in the ballroom of the Lewis B. Rome Commons, located in South Campus. Both locations are in Storrs.
The team will incorporate comments and discussion from the hearings as they prepare their final plan for the three areas. That plan is expected to be completed by March.
