ROTC Commissions 19 Lieutenants

STORRS, Conn. -- Brig. Gen. Ireneusz J. Zembrzuski addressed a joint Army/Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) commissioning ceremony May 18 that included 14 students from the University of Connecticut.

Zembrzuski is assistant Adjutant General for the Army National Guard for Connecticut. He is responsible to the Adjutant General for administration, training, and operations of the state's 4,000 Army National Guard members to support both America's mobilization requirements and state emergency operations. He graduated from UConn in 1973 with a degree in mathematics.

The ceremony, followed by a reception, was held in the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center in the Konover Auditorium. During the event, the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force ROTC programs commissioned 19 ROTC cadets as new lieutenants.
