Lecture on April 9 - Putting Family Life First

STORRS, Conn. -- William J. Doherty, past
president of the National
Council on Family Relations, will deliver a lecture on "Family Life
First: Reclaiming Family
Time from Hyperactivity," on Monday, April 9, at 4:30 p.m. at the
University of Connecticut's Thomas J. Dodd Research Center.
Doherty's scholarly interests range from fatherhood and marriage
and family therapy to families dealing with chronic illness. He has
written many books
including Take Back Your Kids: Confident Parenting in Turbulent
Times; The Intentional Family: How to Build Family Ties in Our Modern
World; and the
forthcoming Take Back Your Marriage: Sticking Together in a
World That Pulls US Apart.
The lecture is sponsored by UConn's School of Family Studies and is
a part of the Barbara Foote Johnson Commemorative Lecture Series.
The talk is free and open to the public. It will be held in the Dodd
March 2001 Releases
