Articles From Abbie Hoffman Collection Exhibited in University Archives Building (Released: 03/ /01)

STORRS, Conn. -- Nearly 100 pieces from the University of Connecticut's collection of material about 1960s activist Abbie Hoffman will be on display in the Thomas J. Dodd Researrch Center from April 1 through May 25, including declassified Federal Bureau of Identification documents surrounding his arrest during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in 1968. The exhibit is free and open to the public weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

The exhibit also includes a number of photographs of Hoffman through the years, letters to family members and friends, a T-shirt he was often photographed wearing and a pair of American flag socks -- still unwashed. A reception opening the exhibit will be held Sunday, April 1, from 2-4 p.m. It is open to the public.
