STORRS, Conn. -- In the first mail-in election process in its history, members of the University of Connecticut Alumni Association last month elected six members to its Board of Directors. The results of the election were announced to members assembled at the association's annual meeting, held June 1 at the Centennial Alumni Center.

"We have outstanding volunteer leaders on our board," John Feudo, executive director of the alumni association said. "The new members are eager to support the University and bring the association to a new level."

The newly elected board members are:

  • Francis X. Archambault Jr., '68, '69, of Storrs;

  • Cynthia L. Dul, '79, of New Canaan;

  • Joshua E. Dunn, '92, of West Hartford;

  • Annette R. Lombardi, '76, of New Hartford;

  • Paul H. Patel, '92, '96, of West Hartford; and

  • Louis H. Ulizio, '58, '64, '66, of Wallingford.

The Board of Directors for the University of Connecticut Alumni Association consists of 18 members, six of whom are elected each year for a term of three years. Only regular members of the association who are annual dues or life members in good standing in the year of the election or appointment are eligible to serve as members of the Board of Directors.

Founded in 1888, the University of Connecticut Alumni Association is only a few years younger than the University of Connecticut, founded in 1881. Today the association supports more than 155,000 alumni.

The Alumni Association is dedicated to promoting the welfare, interest and excellence of the University of Connecticut by fostering a mutually helpful relationship among alumni, faculty and students of the University and by creating and maintaining a better understanding between the citizens of the State of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut.
