12th Berkshire Conference on the History of Women

STORRS, Conn. -- The 12th Berkshire Conference on the History of Women will be held at the University of Connecticut June 6-9. The Berkshire conference is a major international women's history conference that occurs every three years. More than 2,000 women's history and women's studies teachers and scholars from the U.S., Canada, and 70 other countries are expected to attend.

This year's theme is "local knowledge and global knowledge." The program includes 192 sessions addressing women's history around the world and throughout the centuries. Topics include the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, women in international organizations, women in Eastern Europe, women in Egypt, the current crisis in Argentina, and Native American women's basketball.
