Alumni Magazine Gets New Editor

STORRS, Conn. -- Kenneth Best of MILFORD has been named editor of
UConn Traditions magazine.
Best, a veteran of several public relations and marketing jobs,
most recently was a freelance reporter for the New York
Times and the Connecticut Post.
"Ken brings a wealth of relevant experience to this
important marketing position," said John Barry, director of
University Communications. "UConn Traditions magazine
is a vitally important communications tool for alumni and donors.
We are pleased with its development thus far and are relying on Ken
to help us take the magazine to the next level."
Best, who has worked at WPKN Radio in Bridgeport as sports
director, news anchor, and program host, still serves as a host of
a three-hour music and interview program at the station. This year,
he won a Faculty Award for Academic Excellence at Quinnipiac
University for having the highest grade point average in the
graduating class earning master's degrees in journalism. He is
also an adjunct professor of journalism there.
"The opportunity to be the new editor of UConn
Traditions is an interesting and challenging
responsibility," Best said. "The achievements and
successes of a major public university are best told through
stories about alumni, faculty, and students. This is a great time
to be sharing those stories with the readers of the

Best served as associate vice president for communications at the
University of Bridgeport from 1983 to 1988. He holds a
bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of
