GROTON, CT — The University of Connecticut’s Avery Point Campus will celebrate Latin American Heritage on Oct. 1 at noon outside the Student Center.
The event will feature Latin Salsa music and dance, poetry, and cultural food. The event will also feature the Latin Salsa band Mikata, hailed for its performances at Mohegan Sun and during Sail Fest.
The event will also include poetry read by locally raised Jose Gonzalez, while newcomer Nina Brown will share her flare of Latin rap. Admission is free.
