Wawzyniecki Receives American Chemical Society Award

STORRS, CT — Stefan Wawzyniecki, of Vernon, chemical health and safety manager at the Department of Environmental Health and Safety at the University of Connecticut, recently received  the 2008 Tillmanns-Skolnick Award from the American Chemical Society (ACS).  

The Tillmanns-Skolnick Award recognizes and honors outstanding, long-term service to the ACS’s Division of Chemical Health and Safety.

Wawzyniecki, who has worked at UConn since 1990, is the University’s chemical hygiene officer. He holds a B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of Massachusetts and a master of science degree in environmental science and technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

He is a board certified industrial hygienist; hazardous materials manager; and chemical hygiene officer.
