Important information from the Travel Office at UConn
If you hold an eticket you MUST report directly to the ticket counter. You
will not be permitted to go directly to the gate for check in. You will
not be permitted past the security area without a boarding pass that you
will be given at the ticket counter. This will probably be the rule
indefinitely. Your eticket is good for travel and can be used to exchange
for another ticket. The main inconvenience will be that you have to go
directly to the ticket counter as do all paper ticket holding travelers.
Southwest Airlines has cancelled all flights until further notice. If you
are holding a Southwest ticket, please contact the travel agency that made
your arrangements or contact the airline directly if you booked directly
with the airline. They can make changes as needed.
Midway Airline has gone out of business. If you have a ticket for an
upcoming trip, please contact the agency from which it was purchased as
soon as possible. They need to hear from you prior to September 25, 2001 in order for
a refund to be issued. Your agency will be able to handle bookings on
another airline. We have been told that after that date no refunds will be issued.
All commercial flights are still cancelled and we have not been officially
notified when that lift will come off. Please contact the travel agency
that made your arrangements or contact the airline directly if you booked
directly with the airline for a ticket change.
Allow additional time for check in and parking when the airports reopen.
We have been contacted by Sanditz Travel and they are available to help
anyone that booked with them. They can get your ticket changed, assist
with hotels and rental cars. Their number is 1-800-878-1905.
We will keep you posted as new information comes to us.
