Bottled Water for Relief and Rescue Workers

The University faculty and staff are invited to join together to send bottles of UConn water to the thousands of relief and rescue workers at the World Trade Center disaster site. It is one way to let them know we are thinking of them.

The Salvation Army says they expect there will be an ongoing need for bottled water for at least a month. The relief agency has volunteered to send a truck to the campus to pick up the cases and transport them to New York City.

The Office of Communications has arranged with Gerry Weller, head of dining services, to make the water available at-cost, which is $6/case.

If you are interested in participating, please send a check (not cash) by Friday, Sept. 21. It should be payable to: the University of Connecticut.

The other regional campus communities can deliver checks to the campus director's office. The Schools of Law School and Social Work can deliver their checks to the office of their dean.
