The Attacks of 9/11: CLAS Faculty Perspectives - September 19
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
will sponsor an interdisciplinary panel
of faculty experts to discuss the meaning of
and constructive responses to the
tragic events of September 11. The emphasis will be on assessing
the past in
order to suggest ways of building a future.
The panel will take place at 4 p.m. on
Wednesday, September 19 in Konover Auditorium in the Dodd Center. The
moderator will be Dr. Felicia Pratto of Psychology. It will feature the Gladstein
Visiting Professor of Human Rights, Dr. Rhoda Howard-Hassmann, and include
Dr. Maureen Croteau of Journalism, Dr. Frank Costigliola of History, Dr.Metin Cosgel of
Economics, Dr. Cyrus Zirakzadeh of Political Science, Dr. Bandana
Purkayastha of Sociology, and Dr. Penn Handwerker of Anthropology.
Audience participation will be welcomed.
